1st Year - Autumn Term

This course describes the designing, editing and representing a complex piece of information via the use of graphics, charts and other presentations tools, typography, page layout, editing, web, emerging technologies, and other material relative to the digital visual arts workflow.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Analyze the knowledge of basic principles, procedures, and techniques of print publication
  • Apply and learn computer applications in designing and print production like magazine and newspaper
  • Evaluate hands on practice on graphic tools
  • Develop Develop an insight to identify and design the different layouts of magazine and newspaper and Brochure

Students will be Introduced to the present concepts of human rights and laws related to it and get to know how they are implemented in media industry and educating the masses.

Photojournalism course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of photography and to provide them with opportunities to apply those skills to the more specific practice of journalistic photography. Practice exposure on the working of the digital camera.

  • Articulate the requirements of situation and the news value of photograph

This course is an examination of the effect and impact of mass media on contemporary life and society.Impart knowledge about various models and theories of mass commune action and their impact on the society.

The course is designed to give students a basic understanding of journalism and newspaper writing and publishing techniques for both in print and in an online version. Students will develop their writing skills by creating several articles for paper.

Designed to guide students in creative writing through experience in three genres: short story, poetry, and creative non-fiction. The course includes analysis of literary models in a workshop mode, and lecture on and discussion of literary techniques in each genre.

  • Apply the knowledge and understating to create and write articles for print and electronic media
  • Develop the skills & craft of copy writing for the advertising and media industry

1st Year - Spring Term

Introduces art of video post- production with strong emphasis on improving sound and image quality within videos. Aims to gain a brief understanding of how stories are constructed in techniques with an in-depth examination.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • define the skill to edit news packages and program packages
  • develop the skill of editing using different softwares
  • apply motion picture editing and post production workflow
  • evaluate the skill to maintain continuity while editing the sequence from the given rushes
  • understand the aesthetics of news programs formats
  • develop the role of editing in creating illusions and altering reality

This course provides an overview of the concepts, methods, and tools by which communication research is designed, conducted, interpreted, and critically evaluated. The purpose of this course is to introduce you to ways of conducting research on human communication and analyze and interpret data.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • propose the analytical skills in identifying and designing the research proposal
  • diagnose the investigative and interpretative research skills for both academics and industry
  • explore the subject knowledge and cause and effect relationships of the subject

Course develops skill on review work on the background of area of research through secondary information available. Course develops skills on data handling, analytical aspects, interpretation, tabulation and presentation of research work.

The module gives an insight into the press laws and ethics. The students will learn all the constitutional laws governing the mass media. Students will be responsible media practitioners working in the code of conduct prescribed by the legalisations.

This course is designed to provide you with basic knowledge of radio/audio production theory, techniques and aesthetics via practical (handson) experience in the writing and production of several program formats, program director, promotions director and production director.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Analyze the growth of radio and how it is changing to internet radio
  • Analyze the legal and ethical production of programmes
  • create the stages of planning and research of radio programming

The course is drawn to provide the students with the knowledge of Radio as a medium. Provides understanding and concept development about Radio Broadcasting including growth of radio, grammar and aesthetics, understanding sound and production.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • Examine various radio broadcast formats
  • Develop an understanding of sound and its propagation
  • Deduce the intricacies and challenges in producing a radio program

Introduces basic principles, procedures, and techniques of television production. The course content includes video control, operation of cameras and editing machines, lighting, staging, directing and interviewing along with on-camera announcing.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • acquaint the students with the complete process of television production
  • describe the process of gathering news and report for television
  • examine the skills of advanced techniques in field production for commercial and industrial television

Study of basic TV production as it applies to live studio programming. Beginning instruction offered in the areas of studio camera operation, audio for television, and television directing, with an emphasis on underlying principles of video technology.

  • develop an understanding on the appropriate use of studio equipment

2nd Year - Autumn Term

This subject is always in demand as per industry requirements. Outcome of this subject will allow students to learn the advertising world, planing and strategy designs, developing innovative ideas to promote products/brands via traditional/digital plateforms.
