It gives a firm foundation to design students enabling them to observe, identify and apply elements in real world.


Course Outcomes: Through this course students should be able to

  • identify the importance and psychology of different elements of design

  • trace the use of various elements in urban designs

Introduction to the various concepts of fashion and fashion terminologies like fashion theories, fashion cycles etc.

Course Outcomes:Through this course students should be able to

  • define various terms that comprise the language of fashion
  • develop an understanding of the communication of the self through Clothing and Dress; its social conditioning and the impact of culture, religion and gender on the way we dress ourselves and the way we dress others
  • discuss different stages of fashion cycle and influences on the fashion industry created by individuals and/or groups
